Message timers

This feature is available ✔️ for: Plan: Standard, Pro, Enterprise, and Guardian Platform: Android and iOS

Message timers allow you to control how long messages last before they're deleted from the sender and receivers device.

Messages that expire are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Android

Global message timer

Global message timer sets an expiration timer for all messages within the app. To enable a global message timer:

  1. Tap the menu icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap "Global disappearing messages".
  4. Set your time limit.

Individual message timer

To enable an individual conversation message timer:

  1. In a conversation, tap the timer icon 🕕
  2. Set your time limit.

iOS

Global message timer

Global message timer sets an expiration timer for all messages within the app. To enable a global message timer:

  1. Tap the menu icon.
  2. Tap Global message timer.
  3. Set your time limit.

Individual message timer

To enable an individual conversation message timer:

  1. In a conversation, tap the blue > icon.
  2. Tap the hour glass icon ⌛.
  3. Set your time limit.
